TeleFutura to Debut Telenovela

NEW YORK TeleFutura will debut its first primetime novela "La Dama de Troya" ("The Lady of Troy") on Monday (June 2), the Hispanic network announced today.

The storyline centers on a woman who overcomes the tragedies that ensue, regaining her faith in life and love along the way, per the network.

The novela is one of two primetime soap operas that will air on TeleFutura. "La Dama de Troya" will air on Monday (June 2) at 10 p.m. Eastern, the network said.

A second novela, "Doña Bella," ("Lady Bella"), is an original production of the epic story, and is on the TeleFutura schedule for 2008-2009, Univision announced during its upfront presentation May 14.

Colombian actress Cristina Umaña stars as Patricia Cruz. Other cast members include: Andrés Juan, Rolando Tarajano, Valentina Acosta, Adriana Ricardo, and Claude Pimont.
